Biography

AJ's full name is Amanda Joy Michalka. She was born on April 10,1991. She is currently 18 years old and 5'6” tall. Amanda goes also goes by AJ, like she does in the band she is in, Aly & AJ.
AJ began seriously studying acting at the age of 9. She landed a lead role in a church musical, "Jailhouse Rock". Later she booked a national commercial on her very first audition. She has been consistently working ever since she appeared on television shows on CBS, FOX, HBO, ABC, WB and NBC. Prior to becoming an actress, Amanda worked as a professional model appearing on magazine covers, store posters and other merchandising ads for National corporations. She has been in ads for magazines, store posters and other merchandising for Disney, Mattel, Playmates Toys, Zutopia, and American Girl to name just a few. AJ is no longer a model, but she does do photoshoots with her sister, Alyson.
Amanda is an accomplished musician, singer and published songwriter. She wrote the song "Something More" about her past relationship with one of her boyfriends. She is proficient at both the piano and the guitar. She plays the piano, acoustic & electric guitar. Aly & AJ have 2 CD out, Into the Rush (2005) and Insomnatic (2008). They are currently working on a third album due to come out later this year.
One think not many fans know is that AJ collects wind-up musicals. Amanda's hobbies are dance, cooking, horseback riding, mountain biking, reading and hanging out with her dog, Willow, and family. Her dog Saint died in June 2007. Her sister's dogs are Roadie and Bandit. Sometime in early May of 2009, AJ and her sister adopted an abandoned puppy who they call Moneypenny.
AJ was mostly home-schooled. In 2007 she graduated at the age of 16. AJ, like her sister, was the valedictorian of her class.
Some names you would know that AJ used to date are Joe Jonas, from the Jonas Brothers, and the skateboarder, Ryan Sheckler. It is said that her current boyfriend Hunter Parrish.
